Yoast are developing an update to allow live indexing for Google and Bing . This will be available in March 2019 for both free and premium users of the Yoast Plugin tool.

How will the Yoast Live Indexing tool work?

The tool will work through the existing MyYoast customer portal. Users will connect their sites to this and after live indexing is enabled, every time a page/post is updated or deleted, this will immediately be reflected in the Google and Bing search results.

Bing Live Indexing

For Bing, once you have connected your site to MyYoast it enables authorisation for messages to be sent between your website and the portal . Whenever you create a new page, update or delete a page, a message from the portal will be sent to Bing. Within one minute of you doing this, Bing will check the changes and submit to it’s index. To do this, you also won’t need Bing Webmaster tools set-up.

Interestingly though, a new URL submission tool was launched last week by Bing for 2019 so we may see these work together in the future.

Google Live Indexing

The details are still very vague at the moment from Yoast on this, other than it will be configured through your Google Search Console account. Once we find out more, we’ll update this blog post with more details.
